NORWEIGIAN ENERGY PARTNERS REP VISITS WELCOME2AFRICA INT'L AHEAD OF ENERGY MISSION TO NIGERIA

Updated: May 30

On Friday 24th May 2024, Bjørn Kahrs, the Regional Director of the Norwegian Energy Partners, had a collaborative meeting with the Founder & CEO of Welcome2Africa International, Bamidele Seun Owoola at the Welcome2Africa International (W2A) office. This high-profile meeting underscores the growing foreign interest in Nigeria's burgeoning energy sector and aligns perfectly with the goals of our upcoming Energy Investment & Trade Mission to Nigeria taking place from 22nd to 25th July 2024.

During his visit, Mr. Kahrs engaged in in-depth discussions with our CEO - the dialogue centered on exploring potential collaborations and furthering our commitment to advancing international energy initiatives. This meeting marks a significant step towards fostering stronger ties between Nigerian and Norwegian energy sectors, leveraging Norway's extensive expertise in renewable energy and offshore oil and gas to enhance Nigeria's energy landscape.

The Energy Investment & Trade Mission to Nigeria will bring together key stakeholders, including government representatives, industry leaders, investors, and international partners. This mission aims to attract participants from more than 20 countries, facilitating meaningful dialogues and partnerships that will drive investment and innovation in Nigeria's energy sector.

Nigeria, being the largest oil producer in Africa and holding the largest natural gas reserves on the continent, presents immense opportunities for investment. We are also making significant strides in renewable energy, with a target to generate 30% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030. The mission will highlight these opportunities, providing a platform for showcasing investment-ready projects.

With Nigeria's energy sector undergoing transformative changes, the #EIM2024 will serve as a catalyst for driving forward these developments.
