FOROBA is an impact-focused agricultural initiative aiming to establish a 2.5-hectare edible forest in the Touba Couta zone to supply fruits and vegetables to the hotels of Sine Saloum and the surrounding community. The project integrates production, transformation, and community development, with sub-projects in:

Organic waste recovery through households and women’s groups

Income-generating activities and ecological training for women

Agro-processing to reduce post-harvest losses, create added value, and develop exportable finished products

Youth engagement in agro-food professions and value-chain processes

FOROBA intends to replicate its fruit and vegetable forest model across Senegal’s tourist regions, including Saint-Louis and Casamance.
